Clare Sierawski is the Power Africa Country Manager for West Africa for U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). She is a clean energy and climate change expert, currently managing over a dozen clean energy projects for USTDA in West Africa. Before moving to USTDA, Sierawski was the Chief of Staff in the office of the Special Envoy for Climate Change at the U.S. Department of State where she helped develop and cement U.S. international climate change policy, including the 2014 U.S.-China climate change deal and the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change. Sierawski also worked for former Secretary of State John Kerry as his Energy and Environmental Adviser in the U.S. Senate. Sierawski has a Masters in international environmental policy from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School (WWS) of Public and International Affairs. She completed her undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh, where majored in Environmental Studies, Political Science, and Chinese. Sierawski is a Truman and Udall Scholar.
